About the Media Center

We have an exciting program in the Dawnville Elementary School Media Center, with our main objective always being to encourage your child to read! Activities and lessons for various grade levels will include library and computer skills, literature appreciation, and of course, the Scholastic Book Fair.

Books may be kept for 2 weeks. Please encourage your child to keep track of their library books and to return them on time. Books may be returned on a daily basis and another may be checked out. Books not returned, or lost, must be paid for. Failure to do so will result in the loss of book checkout privileges. Please encourage your child to take care of their library books. Students will have to pay for damages and/or the entire book if the book is not returned in good condition. Please encourage your child to read at home every day!

Checkouts are as follows:

Kindergarten - One book at a time
Grades 1-5 - Two books at a time

Want to help out?

Volunteers are an integral part of the efficient operation of the Media Center. Family members and community members are invited to participate. Volunteers help with circulation, shelving, checking and processing new materials, special events and other projects. If you would like to be a Media Center volunteer, please contact Diane Tyner at Diane.Tyner@Whitfield.k12.ga.us.  Thank you for your support!
